JUDY ACKER-SMITH INSPIRATIONAL GARDEN

The Judy Acker-Smith Inspirational Garden will be a beautiful, quiet, and peaceful place where the Portage community can come to relax, reflect, and be inspired. The garden will include an artfully designed shade structure lined with benches overlooking a colorful assortment of flowers, ornamental trees, and plants. Inspirational art located within the garden will encourage creativity and act as an excellent source of motivation for all that visit.

We seek donations - with a goal of $150,000 - to establish this serene and inviting garden in honor of long-time Portage resident Judy Acker-Smith. Judy was a dedicated and passionate volunteer who had an extraordinary ability to inspire people to work together towards the betterment of the community. She was also a well-known and impactful tennis instructor who introduced thousands of people to tennis. This garden will reflect Judy’s positive and enthusiastic outlook on life and will become a treasured gathering place in the community for years to come.
